Turkmenistan’s transport and communications complex demonstrates strong performance in January

On February 6, at the Government meeting, Deputy Chairperson of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Mammethan Chakyyev reported on the results of activities carried out in January 2026 in the structures under his supervision. During the reporting period, the growth rate of work performed and services rendered in the transport and communications complex amounted to 113.3 percent.

The growth rate of cargo transportation carried out by road, rail, air, sea, and river transport reached 101.4 percent, while passenger transportation amounted to 103.4 percent.

During the period under review, the growth rate of services provided by the Ministry of Railway Transport reached 106.7 percent, by the Ministry of Road Transport 120.9 percent, by the Türkmenhowaýollary State Service 119.8 percent, by the State Service of Maritime and River Transport 102.6 percent, and by the Ministry of Communications 113 percent.

After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of further systematic strengthening and modernization of the material and technical base of the national transport system. In this context, the Head of State instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to pay special attention to increasing the volume of passenger and cargo transportation, transit and international freight traffic, and improving the quality of communication services provided to the population.
