President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on establishing the Ministry of Highways. The corresponding decision was made during an extended government session following the results of 2025.
The document was signed with the aim of significantly improving the management of the road sector. According to the decree, the State Agency for Highway Construction Management is abolished, and a new ministry is being created on its basis. The Ministry of Highways is designated as the legal successor of the abolished agency.
The new ministry, together with the ministries of finance and economy, labor and social protection of the population, as well as the Ministry of Justice, has been instructed to prepare within one month draft regulations on the ministry, the structure of its central apparatus, staffing table and salary levels for managers, as well as proposals for amendments to legislation.
By the relevant Decree of the Head of State, Hangeldi Shirdogdyyevich Kerimov was appointed Minister of Automobile Roads of Turkmenistan.
