On February 16, the international seminar “High-Level Dialogue on Global Health Diplomacy” began its work at the capital’s “Ýyldyz” Hotel.
Welcoming the participants of the international seminar, a representative of the Turkmen side noted that the modern era requires new approaches to addressing global challenges in medicine. Today, healthcare is not only a professional field but also an important component of foreign policy. In this regard, Turkmenistan views health diplomacy as an effective tool for strengthening trust and solidarity among nations.
At the opening ceremony, Hans Kluge, Director of the European Regional Office of the World Health Organization, also delivered remarks, expressing sincere appreciation to the Government of Turkmenistan for its consistent support of WHO efforts. As noted, Turkmenistan serves as a vivid example of how a positive policy of neutrality contributes to the interests of healthcare and preventive diplomacy.
During the seminar, heads of delegations from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia also shared their experience. The presentations focused on specific areas of regional cooperation, exchange of experience in personnel training, and the introduction of innovative technologies in medicine.
The results of the first day of the international seminar “High-Level Dialogue on Global Health Diplomacy” demonstrated that Ashgabat is confidently strengthening its position as an intellectual center of the region.
