Golf courses planned for construction in Awaza and Arkadag city

The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, met with John Reese, President of the American company "Nicklaus Companies," and representatives of the company's management during his visit to the United States. During the meeting, various types of golf courses built with the participation of "Nicklaus Companies" were presented.

Hero-Arkadag noted the positive experience of cooperation accumulated with "Nicklaus Companies," considered a world leader in this field, and stated that there are plans to build modern golf courses in Arkadag city and the "Awaza" National Tourist Zone.

Pointing out that the golf course built in Ashgabat has gained great popularity among the city's residents, especially the youth, the National Leader emphasized that Turkmenistan is ready to study the partner company's proposals regarding the construction of such new centers.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan closely examined the projects presented and noted that the construction of golf courses in Arkadag and Awaza would complement the social facilities being built en masse across different parts of the country. He expressed confidence in the further development of productive relations with "Nicklaus Companies."

John Reese emphasized that it is highly gratifying that the development of golf in Turkmenistan is given importance at the state level. He stressed his company's great interest in offering proposals for building golf courses in various regions of this economically powerful country and making the necessary preparations to begin construction.

During a second meeting with "Nicklaus Companies" President John Reese within the framework of his visit, the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan exchanged views on the issues discussed, agreements reached, and tasks identified. During the exchange, they discussed matters related to the high-level implementation of the agreements reached following the meetings.

Hero-Arkadag mentioned the plans to build golf courses in the "Awaza" National Tourist Zone and Arkadag city, drawing attention to the issues of mutual exchange of experience in this regard.

John Reese reported that following the meeting with Hero-Arkadag, relevant work had been carried out to prepare projects for constructing a golf course in Turkmenistan. As noted, the golf complex to be built on the shores of the Caspian Sea will include two courses intended for young people interested in this sport. One of them will provide the opportunity to organize competitions. Members of the golf club will be able to conduct various training sessions there, and facilities for organizing international tournaments will be created.

The construction of golf courses within Awaza—which already features luxury hotels, health resorts, and a magnificent water park—will strengthen the region's status as a significant resort zone within Central Asia.

During the meeting, it was noted that the natural features of Arkadag city possess all the necessary amenities for building a golf course.

Hero-Arkadag expressed confidence that this cooperation will give a new impetus to the development of golf in the country.

The interlocutors emphasized that the meeting served as a starting point for new initiatives.
