On February 23, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Tangryguly Atahallyyev and the governors of the provinces, during which issues of the agro-industrial sector and the progress of work in the country’s regions were reviewed.
The governors of Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap, and Mary provinces reported on the pace of agricultural campaigns being conducted in their regions.
As reported, seasonal care is currently being carried out in the wheat-planted fields in accordance with agrotechnical standards, including fertilization with mineral nutrients and irrigation. In preparation for cotton sowing, land leveling and planning continue, along with soil enrichment using mineral fertilizers.
At the same time, planting of potatoes and vegetable and melon crops continues, with measures being taken to ensure the timely completion of this important campaign.
The governors also reported on the progress of construction of social, cultural, and industrial facilities, which are scheduled to be commissioned in the provinces this year.
Summarizing the reports, the Head of State instructed that in the provinces, activities should be carried out to level, plan, and harrow the fields intended for cotton sowing; that care and additional fertilization of agricultural lands should continue in accordance with agrotechnical standards; and that special attention should be paid to the irrigation of wheat seedlings in the fields.
