A meeting was held between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Mahri Bashimova, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to Turkmenistan (with residence in Baku), Julien de Fraipont. During the meeting held on March 30 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, important issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed. During the conversation, special attention was paid to the issues of developing political and diplomatic dialogue, cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries, as well as improving the contractual and legal framework of Turkmen-Belgian relations. The importance of further strengthening Turkmenistan's interaction with European states was noted, emphasizing Belgium's significant role in developing Turkmenistan's cooperation with the European Union. Cooperation within international platforms, primarily within the UN framework, was also discussed. Giving special importance to the trade and economic direction, the parties exchanged views on holding joint events with the participation of business circles and intensifying business contacts. The meeting also touched upon the prospects of cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, including issues of developing relations between higher educational institutions.
