On April 8, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov participated in the ceremonial laying of the foundation for a new modern settlement designed for 4,500 households in the Imambaba administrative area of Ýolöten etrap, Mary velayat. This was reported by online newspaper “Turkmenistan: Golden age.”

The head of state arrived at the international airport of the capital and then flew to Mary velayat, where he was seen off by official dignitaries. Shortly afterward, the President’s plane landed at Mary International Airport, where he received a warm welcome. The ceremony site was filled with an atmosphere of high enthusiasm.

Participants in the ceremony included the Chairman of the Mejlis, deputies of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of ministries and sectoral agencies, the governor (häkim) of Mary velayat, and a wide range of the public.

Addressing the participants, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov warmly welcomed everyone and congratulated them on the start of construction of the new modern settlement. He emphasized that large-scale development is underway in the country, with new modern cities, towns, settlements, industrial facilities, and production enterprises being systematically built and commissioned.

It was noted that the new settlement, whose foundation is being laid today, will also provide comfortable living conditions for residents. The area of the settlement, constructed by the Ministry of Construction and Architecture of Turkmenistan, exceeds 800 hectares. It will include 4,500 residential houses for more than 22,500 people, with all necessary facilities for daily life provided.

In addition, plans include the construction and commissioning of the administrative building of the local council (Gengeş), secondary schools, kindergartens, health centers, a House of Culture, and a mosque. Modern life-support systems will operate throughout the settlement.

Residents of Ýolöten etrap expressed their gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan and Hero-Arkadag for the construction of the modern settlement.

Following the speeches, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov placed a commemorative capsule into the foundation of the new settlement amidst enthusiastic applause. He poured the first portions of concrete into the foundation and, in accordance with the noble traditions of the Turkmen people, gave his blessing to this significant undertaking.

Honored elders also took part in laying concrete into the foundation, following the example of the President.

Finally, on behalf of the President, gifts were presented to the children.
