Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China open new horizons of cooperation in various economic sectors

On April 29, the Turkmen–Chinese Business Forum was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, during which issues of further development of mutually beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and China were discussed. This was reported by online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden age».

At the plenary session titled «Cooperation, Trust, Development: A New Stage of Turkmen–Chinese Relations», speakers provided a detailed analysis of the economic indicators of bilateral cooperation and the favorable investment opportunities created in Turkmenistan. As noted, China is one of Turkmenistan’s long-standing and largest foreign trade partners. Large-scale investments aimed at the sustainable development of both countries and the growth of production capacities open up opportunities for diversifying trade turnover and expanding the range of export-oriented goods. It was also particularly emphasized that dozens of major joint projects have been implemented with the participation of Chinese capital, and work in this direction continues successfully.

During the session, initiatives were put forward to create a broadband communication network based on advanced technologies, increase the volume and improve the quality of internet services, and expand their range. In addition, representatives of Chinese companies expressed strong interest in participating in the innovative development of Turkmenistan’s economy and in implementing regionally significant infrastructure projects.

Within the framework of the business forum, views were exchanged on opportunities to elevate relations in various sectors of the economy, including investment and advanced technologies, as well as on prospects for expanding trade turnover and defining specific areas of joint activity.
