Representatives of the Parliament of Turkmenistan took part in a series of meetings and events organized by the Embassy of the United States in Turkmenistan within the framework of the US Open World professional exchange and training program, held from May 12 to 22, 2026, in Washington, D.C., and in Helena, Montana. This was reported by a press service of a Mejlis of Turkmenistan.

The visit program included topics such as public administration, the parliamentary system, and the development of bilateral relations.

During the seminar, the features of American federalism and the functioning of the U.S. Congress were discussed. The President of Capital Communications Group, Inc., Akram Elias, introduced the Turkmen delegation to the structure of the legislative system and its practical functioning.

Turkmen delegates also met with Laura Kennedy, who shared her experience in strengthening bilateral intergovernmental cooperation during her tenure as U.S. Ambassador to Turkmenistan from 2001 to 2003. She noted promising areas for further strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the trade-economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.
