On an International Day for the Protection of Children, a city of Turkmenbashi became the venue for an important environmental initiative. An educational session dedicated to combating marine litter and climate change was held here. The meeting was organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the public organization «Young Naturalist».
The environmental campaign brought together young activists, representatives of local administrations, and residents of the Caspian coastal region.
Young participants were introduced to innovative approaches to waste management and the principles of responsible resource consumption. An important part of the programme was familiarization with materials from the «Climate Box», a well-known UNDP educational programme.
Eco-activists watched inspiring videos about the protected nature of Turkmenistan and discussed real opportunities for developing volunteer movements.
