Turkmenistan participates in the 114th session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva

The 114th session of an International Labour Conference of an International Labour Organization has commenced in Geneva. A delegation from Turkmenistan, headed by Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population Muhammetseyit Silapov, is taking part in the forum, according to a press service of a Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Over the course of two weeks, delegates will discuss key issues related to employment promotion, the improvement of social protection systems, and the strengthening of social dialogue.

On the sidelines of the session, Muhammetseyit Silapov held a meeting with Peter van Rooij, Regional Director of the International Labour Organization for Europe and Central Asia. During the talks, the parties expressed satisfaction with the strong momentum in the development of the long-standing partnership between Turkmenistan and the ILO.

Particular attention was paid to the practical implementation of joint measures aimed at modernizing national labour legislation, improving the comprehensive occupational safety system, and strengthening social guarantees for workers.

The participants reaffirmed their commitment to the successful implementation of the provisions of the joint Cooperation Roadmap. They also expressed readiness to launch new promising projects focused on promoting the principles of decent work and ensuring sustainable social development.
