The next session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific-Technical and Cultural Cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in the city of Astana. This was reported by a press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The Turkmen delegation was headed by a Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyyev, while the Kazakhstani side was represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Executive Office of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan Galymzhan Koishybayev.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed current issues of bilateral interaction in the trade, economic, investment, transport and logistics, oil and gas, agricultural, scientific and technical, and cultural and humanitarian spheres.
On the sidelines of the session, a Turkmen-Kazakhstani business forum was held, bringing together representatives of the private sector of the two countries. Around 40 leading companies of Turkmenistan and more than 100 representatives of business circles and development institutions of Kazakhstan took part in the event.
In continuation of the forum, the Kazakhstani side presented promising areas for expanding trade and economic cooperation. Special attention was paid to the development of supplies of machinery, metallurgy, construction industry, pharmaceutical and agricultural products.
For their part, representatives of Turkmen business confirmed their interest in further expanding partnership ties with Kazakhstani companies and implementing joint projects in priority areas.
As part of the event, specific agreements were reached:
— a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Joint Stock Company "Center for Trade Policy Development 'QazTrade'" and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan;
— agreements in the field of e-commerce were concluded between the Kazakhstani LLP "Silk Way Asia Trade" and the Turkmen companies HO "Hazar Logistik" and IE "Gamma";
— a cooperation agreement in the investment and construction sphere was signed between LLP "Ashra Solutions" and the individual enterprise "Ojar Aziýa."
