A two-day international seminar concluded at the administrative building of the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat. A delegation headed by Konstantin Savin, GSMA Head of Technical Affairs for the Eurasia region and an expert of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), arrived in Turkmenistan to take part in the event. This was reported by the online newspaper "Turkmenistan: Golden Age."
The seminar's objectives included familiarizing participants with various technologies and concepts for developing mobile and direct communication systems; studying the key differences between the current and previous stages of communication technology development (including mobile, satellite, and direct methods); reviewing measures for automating communication systems based on artificial intelligence; and examining global examples of new technology implementation. Particular attention was given to understanding how government and regulatory bodies can promote the accelerated adoption of new technologies and services in the country.
On the first day of the meeting, presentations were delivered on the topic "General perspectives on the development of the digital economy and the impact of telecommunications," covering the programs and initiatives of the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan in the telecommunications sector. A comprehensive discussion was also held on global trends in the development of information and communication technologies and the prospects for the mobile economy in Eurasia through 2026.
In addition, presentations were given on wireless terrestrial access systems. Participants exchanged views on the current stage of mobile communication system development, international experience in using fixed wireless access (FWA) technologies based on mobile communication networks, and the introduction of new-generation wireless systems.
