On July 1, a meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yermek Kosherbayev, who arrived in Ashgabat on an official visit. During the constructive conversation, the ministers noted that, thanks to trusting dialogue and the mutual political will of the heads of the two states, Turkmen-Kazakh strategic partnership relations are developing along an upward trajectory. The diplomats discussed in detail the progress in the practical implementation of agreements previously reached at the highest level.
The parties placed special emphasis on strengthening political and diplomatic cooperation. Mutual readiness was expressed to maintain regular contacts between the foreign policy agencies of the two countries, including within the framework of bilateral political consultations. In the context of reviewing the regional and international agenda, the heads of the foreign ministries confirmed their commitment to the practice of mutual support for initiatives and proposals of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan at the UN and other authoritative global platforms. In this vein, the interlocutors focused their attention on preparations for major international events at the highest level planned to be held in Turkmenistan this year.
Turning to the block of trade and economic cooperation, the parties highlighted the importance of intensifying ties in the transport-logistics, energy and industrial spheres. In discussing cultural and humanitarian partnership, the significance of deepening traditional contacts in the fields of science, education and culture was noted. The ministers spoke in favor of holding joint cross-cultural events that would contribute to further rapprochement and strengthening the bonds of friendship between the fraternal peoples of the two countries.
Following the talks, the parties confirmed their commitment to comprehensively expanding multifaceted interstate dialogue.
