On July 7, the second meeting of the Turkmenistan-Tajikistan Business Council was successfully held in Dushanbe. Co-chaired by Mergen Gurdov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, and Farhodshoh Rahmonalizoda, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan, this important meeting was attended by more than 35 authorized representatives of Turkmenistan, including officials from government agencies and heads of leading companies and enterprises.
The event was organized as part of the practical implementation of high-level agreements reached between the President of Turkmenistan, His Excellency Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon. As noted during the meeting, thanks to the wise and far-sighted policy pursued by the heads of the two states, Turkmen-Tajik friendly and economic relations have reached a qualitatively new level. The parties specially emphasized the high growth dynamics of bilateral trade, while drawing attention to the vast untapped potential for further increasing the volume and diversifying the range of mutual trade.
In his speech, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan announced the full readiness of our country's business circles to expand cooperation and effectively utilize the potential of the Business Council. In turn, it was highlighted that large industrial, chemical, and logistics enterprises of Turkmenistan are highly interested in strengthening direct ties with Tajik entrepreneurs and implementing joint investment projects within the territory of Tajikistan.
Furthermore, through sectoral presentations organized during the meeting, the Turkmen side comprehensively introduced the participants to the immense transport, logistics, and investment potential of Turkmenistan. Representatives of Tajikistan, for their part, spoke about the incentives created in the country's free economic zones, the investment climate, and the opportunities in the tourism sector. The events within the framework of the council continue with direct negotiations between the entrepreneurs of the two countries.
