President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has arrived in Georgia on a two-day state visit. At the Tbilisi Shota Rustaveli International Airport, which was decorated with the national flags of the two countries, the Turkmen leader was warmly welcomed by high-ranking officials. The official welcoming ceremony subsequently took place at the «Orbeliani» Palace, the residence of the President of Georgia, where the commander of the Guard of Honor presented a solemn report, and the national anthems of both nations were played, reported Turkmen State News agency.
During the high-level talks that followed, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili discussed key areas of the bilateral partnership. The heads of state paid special attention to strengthening interparliamentary dialogue, expanding trade and economic cooperation, and enhancing partnership in the transport, logistics, and port infrastructure sectors. The President of Turkmenistan reaffirmed support for the initiative to establish the «Caspian Sea – Black Sea» multimodal transport corridor along the Turkmenistan–Azerbaijan–Georgia–Romania route.
The state visit's itinerary continued with the Turkmen-Georgian Business Forum, held at the «Expo Georgia» exhibition center. The forum was attended by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, both of whom addressed the participants. Speaking at the forum, the Turkmen leader highlighted the country's economic potential, including the objectives of the Investment Program for 2026 aimed at maintaining the GDP growth rate at 6.3%. The head of state also announced that negotiations are underway regarding the construction of a Turkmen cargo terminal on Georgia's Black Sea coast. Following the forum, the leaders jointly toured a large-scale exhibition showcasing goods manufactured by the ministries, sectoral departments, and the private sector of Turkmenistan.
