Honorable President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin during his visit to the country on August 20. The guest conveyed greetings from President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to the Head of State, emphasizing that developing friendly relations with Turkmenistan remains a foreign policy priority, as reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
Head of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the upcoming consultations between the Foreign Ministries of both countries will strengthen the strategic partnership based on historical roots and mutual respect. During the meeting, it was noted that both sides consistently support initiatives aimed at strengthening peace and stability, not only bilaterally, but also within international formats such as the UN, CIS, ECO, and "Central Asia +". The Head of State shared that a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State, alongside a Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, is planned to be held in Avaza this year.
Addressing cooperation in the trade and economic domain, the parties specifically highlighted the role of the joint intergovernmental commission. Honorable President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted new opportunities to expand engagement in energy, transport, and agriculture.
Furthermore, both sides emphasized that cultural and humanitarian cooperation, grounded in centuries-old friendship, brotherhood, and shared spiritual values, will continue to actively develop through joint events.
