On August 19, a solemn conference titled "Natural Beauties of Kopetdag" was held at the administrative building of the Kopetdag State Nature Reserve to mark its 50th anniversary. As part of the event, social organizations of Turkmenistan presented incentive gifts to reserve staff working in nature conservation. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan.

The conference was jointly organized by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan and the National Center of Trade Unions. The event was attended by representatives of the Ashgabat city branches of the Agrarian Party, the Democratic Party, the Magtymguly Youth Organization, the Nature Protection Society, the "Ýaş tebigatçy" (Young Naturalist) public organization, as well as scientists and specialists.

During the conference, speeches were delivered on the reserve's 50-year history, scientific research conducted to protect the mountain ecosystem and wildlife, field expeditions, and the achievements of environmental policy. Detailed information was also provided regarding natural reserves inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, as well as ongoing efforts to include the transboundary natural site "Karsts, Canyons, and Caves of Koytendag" in this list.

The conference featured videos recorded within the reserve, alongside unique photographs and footage of leopards, mountain goats, wild sheep, and various birds captured via motion-sensor camera traps. Speakers expressed their gratitude to the state leadership for the opportunities created to turn the country into a blooming land and maintain a clean environment.
