At the Cabinet of Ministers meeting held in digital format on November 5 under the chairmanship of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the results of work carried out in various areas of the country’s socio-economic development during January–October of this year were reviewed. Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova presented information on the activities of the national parliament during the reporting period. It was noted that extensive work had been carried out to further develop the legislative framework of Turkmenistan during the first ten months of the year.

During this period, 8 Laws of Turkmenistan and 15 resolutions of the Mejlis were adopted. They included the Law “On Establishing the Jubilee Medal of Turkmenistan ‘To the Participant of the Solemn Military Parade Dedicated to the 35th Anniversary of the Independence of Turkmenistan’”, as well as legislative acts related to the state protection of Akhal-Teke horses.

In addition, amendments and additions were introduced to existing legislation concerning the protection of citizens’ rights and legitimate interests, ensuring industrial safety at production facilities, improving accounting and financial reporting systems, road infrastructure and road activities, environmental protection and the conservation of aquatic biological resources, as well as enhancing the effectiveness of migration policy.

During the reporting period, the Mejlis of Turkmenistan received credentials from 8 Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of foreign states accredited in the country. Furthermore, 48 meetings were held with representatives of parliaments of foreign countries, diplomatic missions and international organizations to discuss key areas of bilateral cooperation.

Through cooperation with relevant ministries and sectoral agencies of Turkmenistan, representatives of the Mejlis took part in 105 training seminars organized by international organizations, continuing the exchange of experience in the fields of legislation and legal practice. In addition, 24 foreign working visits of Mejlis representatives were carried out.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to strengthen the legal foundation of the state and consistently improve national legislation in line with modern requirements.
