At the expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan held on October 10, the Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers M. Chakyyev presented a report on the activities of the supervised industry.
According to the results of nine months of 2022, the growth rate for the performance of work and provision of services amounted to 112,8 percent.
At the level of 110,1 percent, the plan for cargo transportation by road, rail, air, sea and river transport was fulfilled. In terms of cargo turnover - by 106,6 percent.
In January-September, the growth rate of services provided by the “Türkmenhowaýollary” agency amounted to 147,5 percent. The “Türkmenawtoulaglary” agency cites data at 131,1 percent. According to the agency “Türkmenaragatnaşyk” – 107,5 percent. Growth rates for the agency “Türkmendeňizderýaýollary” – 107,2 percent and for the agency “Türkmendemirýollary” – 106,7 percent.
In accordance with the “Concept for the development of the digital economy in Turkmenistan in 2019-2025”, the information and communication platform continues to improve. More than 360 types of digital services are provided on the single portal of public services - e.gov.tm. There are also more than 14 thousand personal accounts on the “Single Window” portal.
The transport infrastructure of all regions of the country is systematically developing. Recently, modern passenger bus stations were put into operation in the velayat centers.
In addition, the construction of the airport in Jebel is currently ongoing. Work is underway on the construction of an office building for a transport and communication complex in the modern administrative center of Ahal velayat. A railway bridge at the crossing of the Serhetabat-Turgundi steel line is under active construction.
Joint working groups of the Turkmen-Azerbaijani, Turkmen-Uzbek and Turkmen-Kazakhstan commissions have been created on transport and transit issues and logistics.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov focused on using the potential of the “Türkmen Älem 52°E” artificial satellite. To bring the international seaport of Turkmenbashi and the shipbuilding and repair plant “Balkan” to the design capacity.
In particular, the head of state ordered to intensify the process of growth in passenger and cargo transportation. Ensure the provision of high-quality and safe services in this sector, and prepare proposals for increasing the capacity of the railway system.
