From March 1, 2023, Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) CJSC will reduce prices for road transportation in both directions on the Baku-Turkmenbashi-Baku route, the Turkmenportal news website reports with reference to Sputnik.
The tariff for the transportation of one standard road train (length TIR 16.5 meters) in one direction (Baku-Turkmenbashi or Turkmenbashi-Baku) will be $1000 instead of $1072.
If you buy a round-trip ticket in advance, the fare will be $1600 instead of $1716.
It is noted that if the length of wheeled vehicles is more or less than 16.5 meters, then in this case the rates are calculated in proportion to the length of wheeled vehicles.
Since the beginning of February, passenger cars have been transported in this direction at preferential rates. Currently, the cost of transporting a passenger car by ship is $200 instead of $325.
The reduction of tariffs is aimed at creating favorable conditions for road transportation across the Caspian Sea in the direction of Turkmenistan, the source notes.
