Diplomats of Turkmenistan and Russia discussed key issues of cooperation within the CIS

Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Belarus Nazarguly Shagulyyev held a meeting in Minsk with the new Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the statutory bodies of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Alexander Lukashevich. The sides discussed the priority areas of Turkmenistan’s chairmanship in the CIS this year, as well as preparations for the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence.

The diplomats exchanged views on a wide range of issues of international cooperation, paying special attention to strengthening relations between Turkmenistan and Russia on the CIS platform to ensure regional stability.

Alexander Lukashevich confirmed Russia’s readiness to actively support the implementation of Turkmenistan’s large-scale initiatives within the CIS, as well as long-term projects that will become a hallmark of Turkmenistan’s chairmanship.
