Turkmenistan discusses preparations for the Year of International Law in 2028

On February 18, 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held the first consultative meeting on the implementation of the 2026 Action Plan for preparing and conducting the Year of International Law in 2028.

The Action Plan covers five key areas, including organizational preparation, holding international scientific and practical conferences, implementing educational and awareness-raising initiatives, organizing international and bilateral events, and supporting youth and scientific initiatives.

Special attention is being given to strengthening international law as the foundation of global peace, trust, and sustainable development, as well as to highlighting the potential of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality as an important political and legal instrument for maintaining stability and cooperation.

As part of the information support, a specialized section dedicated to the Year of International Law will be created on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, along with a broad outreach campaign in national and foreign media.

Following the meeting, relevant ministries and agencies confirmed their readiness for active interagency cooperation.
