Turkmenistan delegate speaks at the session of the UNECE Inland Transport Committee

On February 17, 2026, the 88th session of the UNECE Inland Transport Committee (ITC) began in Geneva. The event is attended by the Turkmenistan delegation, led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Annayev.

Speaking during the high-level segment, the head of the Turkmen delegation noted that Turkmenistan considers the digital transformation of transport a strategic priority of state policy. Emphasis was placed on the systematic modernization of the regulatory framework in the field of electronic document management, the implementation of mechanisms for interstate information exchange, and the establishment of digital transport corridors along the “North–South” and “West–East” routes.

Practical cooperation with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe was highlighted, including in the digital transformation of multimodal transport and the development of automated data exchange.

The speech also emphasized the link between national initiatives and the global sustainable development agenda, including the Decade of Sustainable Transport for 2026–2035, proclaimed on Turkmenistan’s initiative.
