On February 25, Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, in the UK. The parties discussed expanding financial and investment cooperation and implementing joint projects.
The Bank's President confirmed her institution's interest in further expanding mutually beneficial contacts.
Particular attention was paid to the implementation of projects to establish the East-West International Transport Corridor. The Turkmen side confirmed its readiness to consider specific EBRD proposals for participation in initiatives in this area.
Expanding cooperation in the energy sector was also identified as a priority. In this context, ample opportunities for the EBRD to participate in ongoing sustainable energy projects were noted.
