Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradov reported on macroeconomic indicators for January–February of this year.
As reported, GDP growth reached 6.3 percent, including 1.9 percent in the industrial complex, 6 percent in construction, 10.5 percent in transport and communications, 8.5 percent in trade, 2.4 percent in agriculture, and 8.4 percent in services.
During the reporting period, government institutions financed by the budget and business accounting systems paid wages on time, as well as provided pensions, state benefits, and student stipends.
Compared to the same period last year, the volume of capital investments from all funding sources increased by 21.3 percent in January–February.
Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of effective work to further develop the country's economy and maintain high GDP growth rates, as well as overseeing the implementation of production plans by ministries and industry agencies. Furthermore, the head of state instructed that the socioeconomic development of the velayats be ensured.
