On March 9, the official inauguration ceremony of the new President of the Portuguese Republic, António José Seguro, took place in the Assembly of the Republic building in Lisbon. The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Portuguese Republic (with residence in Paris), M. Charyyev, participated in the ceremonies.
That afternoon, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan attended an official reception at the Ajuda National Palace and had the opportunity to welcome the new head of state and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Portugal.
During a brief conversation, Ambassador M. Charyev, on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, conveyed congratulations to António José Seguro on his victory in the presidential election and best wishes on his assumption of the highest government post.
In turn, the Portuguese President, grateful for the words of support, expressed interest in visiting Turkmenistan in the future.
