President of Turkmenistan signed a Decree on discharge to the reserve and conscription for military service
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on the discharge to the reserve from the Armed Forces, other troops, and military bodies of Turkmenistan of servicemen performing compulsory military service, as well as on the next conscription of citizens of Turkmenistan for military service. According to the decree, in April–June 2026, servicemen who have completed the legally established terms of service will be discharged to the reserve. At the same time, male citizens of Turkmenistan aged 18 to 27 who are not entitled to exemption or deferment will be conscripted for military service. In implementation of the decree, Serdar Berdimuhamedov also signed a separate order, according to which the Minister of Defense of Turkmenistan, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Minister of National Security of Turkmenistan, the Head of the State Border Service of Turkmenistan, the Head of the Security Service of the President of Turkmenistan, and the Chairman of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan are instructed to carry out the discharge of servicemen who have completed their terms of service in a ceremonial manner in accordance with discharge plans, and to reward those who have excelled in combat and socio-humanitarian training.
