Turkmen Cinema Days held in Ankara

From February 16 to 18, 2026, Turkmen Cinema Days are taking place in Ankara, the Republic of Türkiýe, becoming a significant cultural event in the context of developing and strengthening humanitarian cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Türkiýe.

On February 16, at the TURKSOY building, a conference was held as part of Turkmen Cinema Days, dedicated to the motto of 2026 and the 100th anniversary of the “Türkmenfilm” association named after Oguzhan.

Speaking at the conference, Turkmenistan’s Minister of Culture, Atageldi Shamyradov, emphasized that the proclaimed motto of the year reflects the country’s unwavering commitment to the principles of independence and permanent neutrality, symbolizes the pursuit of new achievements, and serves as an important factor for the further development of national culture and art.

As part of the conference, films were shown reflecting the history and main stages of the development of the “Türkmenfilm” association named after Oguzhan, as well as a documentary about the activities of the National Equestrian Games Group “Galkynyş.”

The central event of Turkmen Cinema Days in the Republic of Türkiýe was the ceremonial screening of the feature film “Kompozitor” held on February 17 at the Yaşar Kemal Cultural Center in Ankara.

Before the film screening, a photo exhibition dedicated to the 2026 motto in Turkmenistan was organized at the Cultural Center. Speaking at the screening, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev highlighted the importance of holding Turkmen Cinema Days in Turkey as a significant step in strengthening cultural ties among Turkic peoples.
