Ashgabat — Dashoguz highway to be modernized

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Baymyrat Annamammedov reported to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on February 20 regarding the ongoing work to modernize Turkmenistan's road and transport system and increase transit-transport capabilities. As noted in the report, bringing the country's road construction industry in line with world standards and raising international cooperation to a new level is one of the main tasks.

Currently, it is planned to reconstruct the Ashgabat — Dashoguz highway, which will connect the Dashoguz region with the capital. At the same time, it is intended to hold an international tender for the construction of a new bridge along this road. The Vice-Premier emphasized the importance of this project in improving the quality of freight and passenger traffic and submitted the relevant proposal for the Head of State's consideration.

The Esteemed President, having heard the report, noted that the Ashgabat — Dashoguz road is one of the main transport arteries of our country. The Head of State approved the submitted proposal and gave specific instructions to the Vice-Premier on the reconstruction of the road and the proper organization of the relevant work.
